Summary

Seritor is a local-first Chrome extension. All bookmarks, library items, notes, labels, and settings are stored in your browser using Chrome's storage API. Nothing is sent to any server. There are no accounts to create and no sign-in required.

The extension collects no personally identifiable information. The website collects email addresses only if you choose to subscribe to product updates.

Extension data practices

All core processing occurs within your browser sandbox. Seritor does not transmit, store, or process your data on any external server. Your AI conversations, bookmarks, and library content never leave your machine.

Bookmarks and notes No Stored locally via Chrome storage API.
Library items No Stored locally. Never transmitted.
Email addresses No The extension does not collect email addresses.
Browsing history No Not accessed or stored.

Extension permissions

Seritor requests only the permissions necessary to function. Each permission is justified below.

Permission Purpose
storage Storing bookmarks, library items, conversation metadata, labels, notes, and user settings locally in the browser.
tabs Opening new tabs for scroll-to-message navigation and export output. Seritor does not read tab content or browsing history. This permission is used only for chrome.tabs.create and chrome.tabs.update.
Host permissions Limited to four domains: claude.ai, chatgpt.com, gemini.google.com, and grok.com. Required to inject bookmark flags into conversation pages. No other websites are accessed.
Anonymous error reporting

Seritor includes an optional anonymous error reporting feature powered by Sentry. This is disabled by default and can be enabled in the extension's Settings panel.

When enabled, only technical error data is transmitted: error type, stack trace, browser version, and extension version. Error reports contain no conversation content, no bookmark text, no library content, no notes, no labels, no email addresses, and no personally identifiable information.

You can disable error reporting at any time in Settings. The change takes effect immediately.

Website data practices

Your email is stored by Buttondown and used solely for product update communications. Seritor's website does not collect, handle, or store email addresses.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. We do not sell, share, or transfer email addresses to third parties.

The website does not use tracking cookies, analytics scripts, or third-party advertising. Standard server access logs may be retained by our hosting provider.
